Mens & Boys Dance Bells Southern Straight Dance (Southern Traditional) For many years as a Southern Straight Dancer, Sonny Littlecrow used trial & error to make his own dance bells. He also examined everyone else's bells, especially the ones that fell apart. Now we're proud to offer his perfected design in these straight dance bells. The leather is custom-punched to fit the bells, and bells are held in place with tempered steel wire - THEY WON'T FALL OFF! All adult bell sets have the added insurance of 2 straps on each leg. Excessively worn or dry-rotted straps can easily be replaced for a minimal charge. We've developed 3 standard sizes, that fit nearly all adult straight dancers. All bell sets are lined w/imitation sheepskin, & use 1-1/2" bells unless otherwise stated. Ribbon Shirts For Adults & Children

Ribbon shirts are proper attire for just about anyone, both men & women, Indian & non-Indian friends & family. They can be worn with slacks, jeans or skirts at just about any "Indian doin's". All shirts can have appliqued designs added to the front & back yokes, for an additional charge.

The collarless shirts are the original "Indian style" shirts, constructed from squares & rectangles, originally torn from cotton fabric before scissors were widely available. This is the style normally worn by men dancers, so the yokes are doubled to provide stablity for safety pins holding bandoliers or other regalia in place. The contemporary collared shirts have set-in sleeves, and came into style after 1900. They are often worn with slacks or jeans for casual wear at Indian-related events, or by men participating in Gourd Dance.

Shirt chest measurements are listed. Indian clothes are meant to fit loose. You must allow 4-5" of "wearing ease" to get the shirts on & off. These shirts are made with various hem lengths & sleeve lengths to fit a variety of people. Hem length is measured from the top of the shoulder to the bottom of the hem. Sleeve length is measured from the center back of the neck to the bottom of the cuff.

Email us your measurements to see if a shirt will fit you alright. If you don't have a flexible tape measure handy, use a piece of string or yarn to measure your body, and then measure it with a ruler. We'll shorten the hem length for free, but sleeve length alterations on the Indian style shirts are $10. We don't normally alter the sleeve length on set-in sleeves (collared shirts). Please allow a few days for alterations, in case we're really busy or out-of-town at a powwow. Custom made shirts are available, priced according to the cost of materials and the labor time involved.
